This past weekend, Niagara LMSC handed out the 2019 awards. Two thumbs up for all our award winners!

Skehan: Tom Meade - Tom is the longest continuing member of Niagara in USMS and one of our earliest members to make the Top Ten list...starting in 1973! In addition to being a staple on deck at meets all around Niagara since the 70's, Tom has contributed untold hours coaching and supporting the Binghamton University Masters Swimming (BUMS) club. His numerous LMSC records are not the reason for receiving this award...it's his dedication to the sport and inspiration he passes along to everyone he meets! Seen below is Tom receiving his award on Sunday and a photo of him from a 1973 masters meet at the University of Miami.

Appreciation: Leo Gibbons - Leo started as Niagara LMSC Officials Chair in 2018 and continues in that capacity today. In addition to officiating at almost all Niagara meets, Leo ensures all the meets are appropriately staffed and officiated to the standards expected by U.S. Masters Swimming. Leo puts in the same amount of care and safety for all events: helping officiate not just sanctioned events, but also NY Senior Games (ESGs) and College Club Swimming (CCS) meets!

Coach of the Year: Brandon Lee - Brandon is a creative and challenging coach that is known for motivating his swimmers. From the words of one supportive swimmer: "His advice, encouragement, guidance and seemingly unlimited patience are instrumental of improving our strokes. On top of this he has a cheerful, great personality. Brandon creates a great atmosphere and team spirit that keeps me coming to practice."
