XV FINA World Masters Championship

The 15th FINA World Masters Championships in 2014 were held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. There were nearly 6,000 swimmers registered for this competition. There were a half dozen swimmers from Niagara LMSC who competed and some even won medals!

The World Masters Championships are contested in Long Course Meters (50 m) format in the summer. They are typically held every two years, with the next two being slated for Budapest, Hungary in 2017 and Gwangju, South Korea in 2019.

About Niagara LMSC

The Niagara Local Masters Swim Committee (LMSC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to a healthy swimming lifestyle for adult swimmers, within the Western NY region. The Niagara LMSC is the local governing body of U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS).

There are over 600 registered Masters Swimmers in Niagara and over 60,000 in USMS. Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible to join. No prior competitive swimming experience is necessary.
